Counseling services for
faculty members
Faculty members are prone to spend so much time and energy teaching their students that they consistently put off their own needs. Consistently busy during their daily lives, they find themselves unable to make time for themselves.
Faculty members are welcome to use the Au Work-life Balance Counseling Center as a place to reaffirm their own potential and refresh themselves.

Counseling services for students
The Au Work-life Balance Counseling Center helps students balance the demands of their studies with personal life and helps them work through the concerns and anxieties they experience as they become adults.
The Center believes it can help pave the way for gender equality by providing opportunities for students to learn and think about the importance of maintaining a healthy wok-life balance.

Confidentiality
The Au Work-life Balance Counseling Center is committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who make use of its services.
- The fact of use of the Center’s services itself as well as information discussed at all counseling sessions are held in the utmost confidentiality.
- With the following exceptions, information is never divulged to third parties without the advance consent of the individual in question:
- 1) In the event that the individual in question or another individual is in serious danger or such danger is deemed to be a reasonable risk
- 2) In the event that the Center is legally compelled to provide testimony
- The Au Work-life Balance Counseling Center provides an environment in which students and faculty members alike can seek counseling with confidence and peace of mind.
Counselors and psychological counselors
Counseling is provided by counselors and psychological counselors with counseling work, seminar, research, and other experience as well as the following qualifications:
- Social Worker (national qualification)
- Class 2 Career Counseling Technician (as certified by Career Consulting Conference) (national qualification)
- Japan Industrial Counselor
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (under the LCSW system administered by the state of California in the U.S.)
- Certified Employee Assistance Professional
- Global Career Development Facilitator (as certified by the Center for Credentialing & Education, Inc.)
- Psychotherapist
