Basic Principles
The University of Tsukuba commits itself to actively contributing to the formation of a society founded on human equality and gender equality in accordance with the following principles, thereby becoming a university where human potential and diversity are respected and all stakeholders can experience pride and joy in their work:
- Respect of the human rights regardless of age, gender, nationality, or disability and the establishment of the dignity of the individual
- Creation of opportunities for all people to realize their full individuality and potential regardless of age, gender, nationality, or disability
- Promotion of equal participation regardless of age, gender, nationality, or disability in planning, development, and decision-making for policies in every area of campus life and administration
- Promotion of international cooperation in the service of achieving a society founded on gender equality and diversity
Basic Policies
The University of Tsukuba shall act in accordance with the following Basic Policies, which embody the Basic Principles described above:
- Pursuit of education, research, or work from the perspective of gender equality and diversity
- Offering of assistance in the balancing of education, research, or work with family life
- Expansion of an open recruitment system in order to increase the number of young, female, or foreign faculty members
- Promotion of young, female , or foreign faculty members to administrative positions
- Pursuit of awareness-raising activities targeting faculty members and students
- Pursuit of gender equality and diversity through partnerships with the local community and international society
